The location of Bokor Mountain
Bokor Mountain
is located at Kampot District in Kompot Province which has been popularized as
one of the most attractive natural resort. It was built in 1921 by the French.
From Phnom Penh to Bokor is about 189 kilometers through national route#3, It
took around 2 hours and a half. It is 32 kilometers and 1101 meters up from
national route #3. Then the visitors need to spend 1 hour or more from the
bottom to the top of the mountain.

Along the road,
we can see a good landscape and the thick tresses which are in green. Before,
the road up the hill is not smooth, but now it is completely smooth.It is
better, if we arrive there in the morning, when we can experience the fog. Most
people find the fog fascinating, but it is hard to drive up and down since the
road is covered by the thick mist, yet the drivers should be careful in every
minute. The tourist can take many photos with their families or friends. Then
they can relax and feel fresh through inhaling the fresh air. If we stay on the
top of the mountain, we can see a good landscape such as sea, thick trees, rice
field, and so on.
The place for tourists to visit
There are the
black Palace, old hotel, old casino, old church, water fall, and a statue of
Yeay Mao, but now they rebuilt a new 3 star hotel named Thansur Bokor. They
also rebuilt a new casino. When we arrive at the waist of the mountain, on the
right side we will see an old lady statue called Yeay Mao. Every tourist
alwaysparks their cars for a while to salute and burn incense stick to do their
holly statue for blessing. They all truly believe that they will be safe when
they go to the top of the mountain and come back home because Yeay Mao will
protect them from any accidents in every minute and enjoy with their trip.
